# Hockey Insights: the NHL research desk Hockey Insights is an independent NHL reference and research desk. It carries official schedules and roster snapshots, 32 club files, 6,717 NHL-ID player pages, 1,678 tracked prospects, a fantasy desk built from three seasons of per-game logs, and a research wing that follows every draft pick since 1990, re-picks whole classes with hindsight, follows traded picks home, and prints its receipts. Everything is built ahead of time from credited public data and served as static files: dated snapshots, not a live feed. ## The front page The homepage is a daily edition of the league. It opens on tonight: how many games, the first and last puck, which clubs open at home and who plays a back-to-back, with a poster for the lead game that sets two faces against each other, each club's last five games and last season's series between them. Every game sits on one evening clock with its starters, marked Confirmed only when the source says so. Below the opening come tonight's storylines, picked from every game's what-to-watch notes; last night's finals with the three stars and every goal; and the slate, one scorebug card a game with the goalie duel, the players out and the head-to-head record. Then the summer's moves and where the points went, the milestone watch and the rookies yet to debut, all 32 clubs by division, the fantasy week, who is out and the prospects playing now, and four figures from the archive. A reader can follow one club; the choice stays on the device. Every figure is read from a file the site already publishes and carries its date. Form dots, the league board and a club's record use 2026-27 once the club has a final on file; other team figures name 2025-26.
